Carolyne Chemweno has over 15 years of Kenyan public-health program experience, beginning as an intern on a Canadian-funded nutrition grant. She holds a BSc in Environmental Health from Moi University, an MSc in Healthcare Management from UNICAF Zambia, and is currently a PhD candidate in Humanitarian Engineering at the University of Twente, Netherlands. Her ORCID record explicitly names her as ALMACH's Board Secretary and CEO, a role she has held since 2016.

Grants & funding experience

Study Coordinator on NICHD-funded maternal/newborn trials under the Global Network for Women's and Children's Health Research (2012–2018); M&E lead across multiple donor-funded programs including World Vision Kenya's nutrition/HIV programs, AMPATH's Hematology and Oncology Division, and the International Cancer Institute.

Current ongoing work

Leads ALMACH as Board Secretary/CEO (ongoing since 2016); remote consultant at Ogunwole Labs/Johns Hopkins Medicine since 2023; PhD research in Humanitarian Engineering at the University of Twente since September 2024; Board Member, East Africa Centre for Vaccines and Immunization (ECAVI), since 2018.
