Irene Kagwiria Marete holds an MBChB from Moi University (1999), an MMed in Child Health & Paediatrics from the University of Nairobi (2005), an MPH from Moi University (2015), and a PhD in Medical Parasitology from JKUAT (2015). She began as a medical officer at Iten District Hospital, became a specialist paediatrician at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, and has been a Senior Lecturer at Moi University since 2008 and a Consultant Paediatrician with AMPATH Kenya since 2007.
